So often we go through each and every day with attitudes that are altered by a myriad of actions and reactions to/from the world around us.  When it comes right down to it, no one can make us feel anything we don’t want to feel (or that we already feel) and when the little ‘gremlin’ inside starts to speak, it’s really  just a reminder for you to stop, be still, take a deep breath and ask yourself:  What is the message that is coming to me in this moment?.   So many times we get distracted by the ‘shoulds’ the ‘could-haves’ and the ‘woulds’ that shouldacouldawoulda almost becomes one big word and is layered with regret.  Instead of living life looking back at things that you can’t change or worrying about the future and things you have no control over, how about being present and being grateful for ‘now’?  There have been so many times that I have missed ‘living’ moments in my life because of the past and the future.   Fear can paralyze even the most evolved spirit.   I have recently begun a transformation and am learning  to continue to strive minute by minute to being present, for  I am learning that is LIVING and that is truly the gift.   Gratitude changes how we look at things.  Gratitude softens hearts and collapses anger.  Gratitude is followed by peace.  We all have for the most part what we need, it’s what we want that causes us to have an attitude, and not practice gratefulness.  Most of us have plenty.  Most of us have all we need.  It’s about learning to love what you have NOW and stop worrying about what you DON”T have. It’s time to be reflective and grateful for what we’ve accomplished, who we are surrounded by (not, what we are surrounded by)  and  to truly stop focusing on what we think everyone else around us has – do we really and truly know if they are happier – just because they have more stuff.??

I am grateful for my health, first and foremost. I have the utmost gratitude for my senses – sight, sound, smell, taste and touch.  (and the sixth sense of UMAMI)  I am grateful for the ability to love, the ability to  forgive and for the insight that I believe in finding the best in others, while practicing to find the BEST in myself and to have a rightful place in the world that matters.  I am grateful for the gift of hospitality and the blessing of being able to write and create.  I am encouraged and grateful for my blog:  fhickChatfromtheCarriageHouse and each of you who stop by and read me.

A mentor and wiser older woman shared this with me.  At the moment you awaken each day, in the window between slumber and sleep, between light and dark, set an intention for your day.  Congratulation yourself for making it through another day, another night, thank your body for the rest it had and for the jobs it will perform in the day ahead.  Set your mind on positive accomplishments and anticipate the Fruits of the Spirit:   love, joy, peace, forbearance (patience), kindness, goodness , faithfulness, gentleness and self-control for God says to us in Galations 5:22-23 that against such things THERE IS NO LAW.  My prayer today, is that you will ponder this..

Today, will you change your attitude to gratitude?  Will you sort to live by the Fruits of the Spirit?   I would love to know!
